How We Work Together — A Practical, Revenue-First Engagement Model

A disciplined, low-risk way to combine your market knowledge with our marketing expertise

Choosing a marketing partner is a personal decision — especially when you’re the one accountable for the outcome.

You bring deep knowledge of your market, customers, and technology.

We bring a strong technical background and experience turning that knowledge into credible demand, qualified conversations, and revenue growth.

This page explains how we work with you — in a way that protects your credibility, respects your expertise, and avoids wasted time and money.

Would you like to see our proposal template that lays-out this process of working with you – step-by-step, with tasks, gates and deliverables at each phase?

to see our proposal template that outlines how we will work together to grow your revenue.

Phase 1:

Orientation & Reality Check

Every engagement starts with a focused assessment designed to establish shared reality.

This phase typically includes:

  • Review of your current website, messaging, and lead flow
  • Evaluation of how buyers actually find and evaluate your product
  • Identification key differentiators and completive advantages – often technical superiority
  • Early signal analysis: where revenue is likely leaking and where there are untapped sales opportunities.

Deliverable:
A clear picture of what is actually holding growth back — not assumptions.

If we don’t see a viable opportunity to improve revenue, we’ll say so here.

Phase 2:

Strategy & Hypothesis Formation

Once reality is established, we design a small number of testable hypotheses — not a giant marketing plan.

This phase focuses on:

  • Identification of “lowest hanging fruit” marketing indicatives that will quickly generate new-customer revenue streams
  • Estimating what untapped customers and markets have the highest potential – then assigning low-cost initiatives to test if we can actually generate POs
  • Determining if there are low-effort initiates that might quickly produce a revenue bump
  • Finding lead generation problems that are urgent enough to trigger early action
  • Determining if there are high-effort projects that would result in major revenue growth (typically done later – after the “fast and easy” initiatives are completed)
  • What not to do (often the most valuable insight)

Deliverable:
A prioritized strategy tied directly to revenue, not activity metrics.

Phase 3:

Focused Execution (Mini-Projects)

Rather than asking for long-term commitments, we execute through contained, outcome-oriented mini-projects phases with defined deliverables and gates that require your approval to move to the next phase.

Examples include:

  • A single high-intent landing page with updated graphics
  • A narrowly scoped Google Ads test
  • Messaging and positioning rebuild for one buyer segment
  • A highly targeted direct email campaign for products that are so revolutionary – that people don’t think to search for them

Each mini-project is designed to answer a specific question: Does this move the revenue needle?

Deliverable:
Proof — or disproof — before scale.

Phase 4:

Review, Decide, Scale (or Stop)

After execution, we review results honestly.

Together, we decide:

  • Scale what works
  • Adjust what shows promise
  • Kill what doesn’t

There is no automatic progression and no sunk-cost pressure.

If the data (or your team) says stop, we stop.

Deliverable:
Momentum built on evidence, not hope.

Think that this might be a fit for your technical company?

What This Process Protects You From

  • Long retainers before results
  • Championing a revenue turn-around initiative with no confidence in results
  • Activity without accountability
  • “Brand work” and “awareness work” disconnected from sales revenue
  • Digital marketing vendor lock-in

What This Process Requires From You

  • Willingness to look at uncomfortable data
  • Move fast
  • Openness to changing assumptions
  • Commitment to decisions once evidence is clear
  • See the process through to get good data to guide the next steps

A Practical Approach to Expectations

Every business and market is different. While outcomes can’t be guaranteed, our process is designed to reduce risk by testing, learning, and scaling only when the data shows real promise.

We will be:

  • Direct
  • Transparent
  • Honest if sales don’t increase as expected

You’ll always know where things stand and why decisions are being made.

How Engagements Begin

Most clients start with:

  • A few virtual meetings to determine if there is a fit – and a rough determination if we can help
  • Review an initial proposal and engagement letter.  Refine
  • A narrowly scoped pilot project
  • From there, continuation is earned — not assumed.
